A Little Goes a Long Way- often a Life Time
In 2026, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado will drive into our 42nd year of serving our local community and its youth by creating mentoring relationships that often last a lifetime. Many of our local business owners and workforce can reflect on their experience as a "Little" when they were growing up and the power of that important relationship related to their success.
As we commit to serving more youth in La Plata County and take the initial steps to serve Archuleta County again, your support from 2025 and prior years has set up our organization to offer more, to more youth in 2026. Now, your contributions will support this growth and impact, this year and in future years.
Our professional staff not only "match" a Big & Little after an extensive enrollment process; they ensure that the relationship is thriving and resources for the Little, Big and parent/guardian/family of the Little are being accessed to ensure a positive environment for the youth- even after their Big/Mentor goes home. We know that the more positive mentoring relationships our local youth have, the more likely they are to graduate high school, obtain high self esteem and become contributing members of their local economy as adults. Additionally, your contribution allows us to support our volunteer community members to thrive just as much as they bring their time, attention and love to each of our Littles.
